Trek the Dog Canvas Painting

This is my painting of Trek the Dog looking on innocently towards his loving owner. This painting took me around 5 days to paint on a 16" x 12" thin edged canvas.

The actual photograph of Trek which the client presented to me shown Trek sitting on his favourite chair which we used as a basis for the surrounding colour, with the rich burgundy/red tones matching Treks black fur perfectly but not stealing his limelight. The colour is made to a fade ever so slightly near the canvas edge.

Please message me at my contact page if you are interested in having one of your pets painted on a canvas size of your choice.

Tiger Acrylic Canvas Painting - FOR SALE

This Tiger stalking his prey painting was created on a medium scale canvas (24 x 18 inch) with a rich vibrant colour.

I really wanted to emphasise a strong contrast with the green and orange colours in this painting to bring it to life.

This painting is currently for sale. Please send us a message on the contact page if you are interested in buying.

Batman Arkham Asylum Acrylic Canvas Painting

This extremely large scale canvas painting (40 x 50 inch) incorporates Batman from the Arkham video game series which my client adores. Batman stands at an almost life-size height on this painting and he is depicted in a realistic style.

Please send us a message on the contact page if you are interested in something similar to this painting.

Billy the Mischievous Jack Russell Dog Canvas Painting

This is my painting of the iconic Billy the Jack Russell. This painting took me around 3 days to paint on a 16" x 12" canvas thin edged canvas.

The actual photograph of Billy which the client presented to me shown Billy running on a pebble beach which looked nice but I proposed the idea to really show how Billy could be the centrepiece of the room by incorporating a strong black background that has a beautiful contrast in colour to Billy, the black fades to a slight grey near the canvas edge.

Please message me at my contact page if you are interested in having one of your pets painted on a canvas size of your choice.

Orca “Killer” Whale Underwater Sea Wall Mural

This is an Orca Killer Whale wall mural I painted recently.

The mural features two adult Orca Whales swimming in the blue waters with their two baby Orcas.

We decided to fill the sea-bed with a lot of coral and many interesting weeds and plants all painted in beautiful colours to complement the Orca’s.

I thoroughly enjoyed painting this mural which was the first underwater mural that I have painted and took me around 16(long) days to complete.

Murals Edge intro Movie by Shinobu Bissett

This is a Murals Edge introduction movie created by my beautiful wife Shinobu which I will be incorporating to the Murals Edge home page at www.muralsedge.co.uk.

The idea was to showcase the logo and title with some appropriate transitions and sound effects.

I am really happy with the end result, all the images used look very clean and I love how Shinobu decided to use a guillotine effect for the letter "M's" three colours, very imaginative and the timing of the metallic sound effect is perfect!

Maybe these ideas can inspire you too!

I drawn this picture on a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 using the stylus pen.

I've added a variety of different background colours to the portrait and sparkly effects on some of the portrait pictures.

Murals Edge - Business Card designs for 2015

After many hours of designing and discussing ideas this is our final design of the Murals Edge business card for 2015. Designed by Neil & Shinobu Bissett.

We wanted to maintain the look of the website with the colour scheme and also be stylish/modern but also deliver an impression of what Murals Edge represents, which was very difficult as we didn't want to overload the card with information and pictures.

The picture represents both sides of how our final design will look when printed, the curved corner may differ slightly.

My Beautiful Wife Shinobu Digital Drawing (Edited)

This is a drawing of my beautiful wife Shinobu which I created with the brilliant SketchBook Pro smartphone application on my smartphone.

I created a quick modern style white frame to encase this picture on GIMP.

Then I added a modern style wall texture to finish.

Murals Edge – New Official Website Link

Well I had to finally sit down and complete this task eventually and I have!

Before whenever somebody would go to MURALS EDGE my website would automatically re-direct to my WordPress blog, which was great but ideally I wanted my own personalised website to manage.

Well now, those days are finally over! The Murals Edge website now will be represented by 3 different colours depending on which device you are using.

Pricing a Mural

Introduction

Pricing a mural is something that I wanted to talk about as it can vary from one mural painter to another depending on reputation, experience and even location.

People looking on from the outside may think the pricing structure for a wall mural is as simple as figuring out the amount of paint used, size of the area and complexity of the project. In some respects this is true, but I would like to go in to this in a lot more detail stating the pros and cons and what I would do in each situation looking at things subjectively.

Mural Painting Advice & Tips

I thought that it would be interesting and informative to write this article about the process of painting a wall mural but first of all I would like to talk about a few factors and experiences.

Horse "Dolly" Acrylic Wall Mural Painting

This is a wall mural I created in acrylic paints of my clients young horse called Dolly. We decided to complete the picture by adding her name created in the style of the “Dolly mixture” sweet for obvious reasons.

African Jungle/Forest Mural

This is the deep African jungle/forest scene I painted for my client, who wanted a scene with various wild animals such as a zebra, elephant, python, tiger and more.

The main emphasis of this mural was to create the illusion of the child's room feeling like it was in the heart of the jungle. With rich vibrant colours used for leaves and plants and a real sense that you could just reach out to touch the animals.

Minecraft “Steve” Character Mural Painting

This is a large scale version of the character "Steve" from the popular game Minecraft.
This was a short job but also a challenge in it's own right due to drawing in a perspective/angles where I would usually be drawing in a more natural manner with curved lines.

Black Labrador in Snow Canvas Painting

This medium scale canvas painting (24 x 18 inch) is my clients beloved pet Labrador dog in the snow. This painting was created in a mono-tone style with just black, grey and whites acrylic paints.

I have incorporated a practice that I like to use more often nowadays which is to take pictures of my work in a natural light and then to take pictures in a dimly lit area with the cameras flash enabled. In the past I would take pictures of my work and for whatever reason the photographs would never capture the colours correctly.

Looney Tunes Montage Logo Acrylic Canvas Painting

This large scale canvas painting incorporates many of the famous faces bursting out of the trademark banner. This picture was custom designed to feature all my clients favourite characters from the classic series.

Walt Disney Characters Acrylic Canvas Painting

This medium scale canvas painting (24 x 18 inch) incorporates my clients favourite Walt Disney characters. We decided on a some-what symmetrical layout with the two dog characters (Goofy, Pluto) in a vertical position of one-another, the two duck characters (Donald, Daisy) and the two mouse characters (Mickey, Minnie) in Horizontal positions giving the montage an even layout.

Dana Linn Bailey Acrylic Canvas Painting

This is a canvas painting I created of the above named fitness athlete for a fan. I loved creating this work, the background is a kind of coloured smoke effect like what would be used on a stage for a show.
