About

A little bit of information about myself

First of all I would like to thank you for visiting my website!

This is the section of my website where I let the world know a little bit more about myself, hopefully in a fun yet informative way without sounding generic and boring. But, a big part of this section of my website is to give potential customers and insight in to the character they will be dealing with.

Where do I start!? My name is Neil Bissett and I reside in the United Kingdom.

I am currently based in the Nottinghamshire region, but I am always willing to talk about work opportunities in any location.

Thank you for visiting Murals Edge!

Digital Art

I have always had a passion for creating work in a digital fashion ever since getting a copy of the game "Super Mario Paint" for my video games console on my 12th birthday. I would spend literally hours of my spare time trying to draw pictures with this very primitive tool - at the time it felt like I had the world at my fingertips.

Next in line to grab my attention was the drawing package available for the Acorn Archimedes computers which were standard at schools during the early 1990's before PC's really took off.

When it was finally time to buy my own computer I believe the first graphic design package I used was Paint Shop Pro which, if I remember rightly, was a great little package. Over the years I have used countless software including Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver. Gimp and countless other's, the aforementioned are my most popular “go to” application's though.

My Favourite form of performing my art-work on a computer is 'line-art', which is basically drawing pictures with the 'Pen-Tool' to give that sharpness and appearance of a stunning high resolution Vector graphic! I like to produce this work in Photoshop with the aid of my drawing tablet and stylus, this is a skill/art that I would like to venture in to much further as I find extremely rewarding.

Fine Art

I started drawing at a very young age, I suppose it was a parents way of keeping me occupied for a short while. I can still remember to this day pausing the action on a VHS player to draw characters from various cartoon series back in the 1980's and navigating the horrible fuzzy-lines you would get on screen from pausing the tape. How much easier would it have been having the pause feature of a DVD player back in the 1980's!

I continued through my school years enjoying drawing & painting, enjoying being the "go to" kid for various school friends to complete art assignments. I'll never forget a school teacher stating to me when I was around seven years old that my birds looked like a load of "flying M’s", thanks Mrs Wilson!

There were good points at school though, especially when in year-10 Mrs Price paraded my football montage around the other art classes which I was quite embarrassed about.

I will be spending the majority of the upcoming weeks uploading content to this new website.
